Sunshine Coast beekeepers are invited to a free session in Maleny with a Varroa Development Officer from the National Varroa Mite Management Program. Learn how to detect, treat, and manage Varroa in your hives.
With recent detections on the Sunshine Coast, the risk to local hives is real. This session will cover:
Varroa mite impacts
Monitoring and treatment thresholds
Integrated pest management (IPM)
Treatment options, including organic
Brood management and frame rotation
Record-keeping best practices
